Sandy, Utah – Jolstad Motorsports and Arctic Cat rider #15 Wes Selby made his second tour to the Rio Tinto Stadium for the Piranha-X Western Nationals. This marks only the third of eight national races in the ACSS - AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series. Despite temperatures dipping below freezing, fans were out in full force to support Selby and the 14 other riders in the Pro Stock qualifying and final races. Selby took the track with fervor and speed to earn a seventh place finish in the Pro Stock class.
After two less-than-desired starts in qualifying heats one and two, Selby was forced into the LCQ round. During the LCQ, he battled his way into fourth place, earning the 14th seed going into the final round. After narrowly avoiding the multi-racer pileup in the first corner and straightaway in the final, which forced a restart, Selby rallied past many notable long-time pro riders to earn his best finish of the season, seventh place.
From Grand Lake, Colorado, Wes Selby moved to the professional class during the 2009-2010 season. In just a year’s time, Selby has achieved a notable presence on the national circuit. During his rookie season, he made appearances at five national races, with a top 15 finish at the Piranha-X Western Nationals in Sandy, Utah. Selby was honored as the “Top Rider” on the Xtreme Mountain Racing circuit. In the current 2010-2011 season, he has qualified for the Winter X-Games, held in Aspen, Colorado and has finished in the top 15 at every ISOC national race to-date.
